My Memories Suite - Shadowing Tips

Facebook Timeline Cover Photo with MMSv3

Facebook is coming out with a new format and you can add what is called a "Cover Photo" to your "Timeline" (which is the new "Profile").

Now that you can make custom designs in MMSv3, this means you can scrap your Custom Photo on your Facebook Timeline!

The official size of the Cover Photo is 850x315 pixels. You cannot just enter this as your size in MMS because the embellishments and papers are designed for 3600x3600 pixels and will be too huge to work with. See below for suggested size settings.


Here's a brief tutorial on how to do it.

Step #1 - Design Your Own Album

Step #2 - Select "Landscape Album" and "Custom Size". Change Units to "Pixels" and enter 3600 for Width and 1334 for Height. You can compress later - you need to be around this size for your embellishments to show up at their proper size.

**Normally, we say you shouldn't resize your embellishments to be any larger than what they are when you first import them or else you could compromise print quality. This is less of an issue for making a cover photo because you aren't going to be printing it!**

Step #3 - Create your Cover Photo Layout - Do NOT put anything in the area I've shown with the yellow square.
This spot has your current profile photo. (see below)

Step #4 - Go to "Share" and Export your layout as a JPEG. I chose size "Small" and 100% compression for clearest resolution.
**According to Facebook, your image must be at least 720 pixels wide so the
"Web" size would be too small**

Step #5 - Upload as your cover photo for your Facebook Timeline Cover Photo!
